Natalie’s Fresh Prep: Reflections on Our First Year

My First Year at Natalie’s Fresh Prep: What I’ve Learned Along the Way

Starting Natalie’s Fresh Prep has been a whirlwind, to say the least. It all began with my own frustration. I was trying to find truly healthy, quick meals for my family that didn’t involve endless trips to the grocery store or spending hours in the kitchen. I knew I couldn’t be the only one struggling with this, so I decided to take matters into my own hands. I’ve always loved cooking (it’s kind of like therapy for me), and I come from a family of great chefs. So, why not turn that passion into a business that helps others too?

One of the hardest parts of this first year was getting the word out about our little business. We didn’t have a big budget for advertising or marketing, so it felt like a real uphill battle at times. But thankfully, I found an amazing marketing team that really understood what we were about. Chonetell and her team have gone above and beyond to help us grow—even when we didn’t have a lot of resources to work with. They’ve been such a huge part of helping us reach more people, and I’m so grateful for that.

We’ve definitely made some changes along the way! One of the things I’m most proud of is adding made-to-order breakfast options. It was something new for a meal prep business, but I thought, why not give it a try? It’s turned out to be a great addition. We’ve also grown our team with some amazing new people who have been so instrumental in getting us to where we are today. Every challenge has been an opportunity to learn and evolve.

One thing I’ve learned is how important it is to pay attention to what our customers are saying. I love hearing feedback—whether it’s what they loved or what didn’t quite hit the mark. It’s all helpful. Their input has allowed us to refine our menu and make sure we’re offering meals that people truly enjoy. I’m constantly rotating in customer favorites and making sure we learn from anything that didn’t work as well.

As we look ahead to the next year, I’ve been thinking a lot about how we can give back. I’m really excited about an opportunity coming up this November. We’re partnering with a local real estate company to help a family in need by filling their freezer with healthy, prepared meals and stocking their pantry with everyday staples. It feels good to be in a position to give back, and I hope we can continue finding ways to support our community as we grow.

I couldn’t end this without saying a huge thank you to everyone who has supported Natalie’s Fresh Prep in our first year. Whether you’ve been a customer, shared our story, or simply cheered us on, it has meant the world to us. Building this business has been such a rewarding journey, and none of it would have been possible without the support of this amazing community. Here’s to many more years of good food and growth together!

I would like to help you help a family in need if that’s possible. Can I make a donation?
